The Browning Residence brings together tradition and contemporary design. Set in the heart of an older neighborhood, the home sits comfortably alongside its neighbors. The owners wanted a home to be able to grow old in so the first floor has all the spaces necessary for them to live. Light is the theme throughout with wonderfully day lit spaces culminating in the living room at the center of the home.

This space takes advantage of San Antonio’s wonderful climate with a glassy living room which can open up on both sides during good weather. This variation of the “Texas Dog Trot” design extends the livable area outward to flanking terraces and gardens. A series of copper clad bay windows frame important views out and give glimpses of activity inside.
