This narrow yet deep lot came with strict design-review guidelines that permitted only single-story construction for this ground-up project. Architect Holder Design met the challenge by placing the four bedrooms at the front but bypassing them with a formal glass-bridge entryway and organizing the house into two gable-roofed “pavilions”—one public, the other private. The adjacent living space and kitchen are open and light with large trusses and doors leading out to three different deck areas.
