This built in desk, open shelving, bookcase and base cabinetry was installed in a bedroom bump out originally meant for a closet. The home design was modified to allow for walk in closets, so the bump out was an obvious place to install this project. Materials include mostly urban forested white oak and walnut hardwood. It features a sliding tambour door with integrated paper and office product storage behind. The large drawers in the base cabinet feature vertical line accents to match the tambour. Open shelving above the desk features LED strip lighting and work lighting above the desk, and is controlled by light switches on the adjacent wall. The bottom shelf includes an access panel to service the lighting components. The desk features an integrated outlet and grommet for wire organization. The bookshelf features bookmatched veneer sides and walnut veneered back, and figured white oak shelving. The walnut components were finished with Rubio Monocoat pure while the white oak was finished with Rubio Monocoat Mist.
