Bungalow Kitchen Renovation

After raising their family here, my clients were ready for a new kitchen. To take the house back to its 1927 roots, we created a kitchen with modern functionality and old-fashioned style. Period hardware and cabinet styles, marble-like honed quartz counters, pillowed subway tiles, and checkerboard cork flooring are appropriate for the homes' original architecture. Low-VOC finishes, durable materials, LED lights, quiet energy star appliances, and well-organized storage offer ease-of-use, ease-of-cleaning, and energy-efficiency. Straightening an angled layout solved several problems by bringing in more natural light from a new side door, offering more countertop space in the primary work area, and creating easier access with more open floor space. A large single oven in a custom-colored range and a countertop-height convection microwave provide abundant cooking spaces in convenient locations and a powerful hood vent keeps the air clean. Other interesting features include a drainboard in the counter, pullout pantry, pullout towel bar and a furniture hutch.
