This was a complete renovation to a 1960s custom designed ranch in Charlotte, North Carolina. The original house was designed for it's site and sat empty for 12 years before undergoing the renovation. The interior was reconfigured to update the plan to present-day living. Large windows were installed to capture views and light. The exterior remained intact with a new entry foyer and approach walk. A breezeway was added to access the rear and a new mudroom entry. The brick and siding were painted a grey to simplify the massing and wood accents were added to create focal points and touches of warmth.
