The goal of this project was to design & build an outdoor structure that would provide covered spaces to relax, entertain guests with alfresco dining. Finding the perfect location to build the structure on this oversized creek lot and it's relationship with the house was very important to our client. The structure was strategically placed across the pool to serve as a focal point when viewed from the main living spaces. Building materials include chopped Limestone, wood timbers and standing seam metal roof, all elements of the original house. An oval shaped wood burning Isokern fireplace and custom wood vented privacy panels block the views to the neighbors tennis courts behind the structure. Architectural concrete was scored into large rectangle patterns and sealed as the finish floor.
The existing pool was old and dated and did not have the hot tub our clients desired. Our pool contractor renovated the pool and added the desired hot tub. The new dark plaster, modern frost tile and architectural concrete deck & diving platform completely transformed a late 70's pool into a modern resort style retreat from the relentless Texas heat.
