Candy Scott - Biography/Owner/Design Director
Candy Scott is the founder and president of Mood | Design + Build. She has 14 years of experience in the field of interior design in both residential and commercial settings. She is the lead, senior designer for Mood | Design + Build.
Candy has a genuine desire to create special places reflecting the heart and soul of her clients. Her enthusiasm for understanding the inner wishes, workings and vision of a person makes her approach to design unique, invigorating and timeless. Every individual, family or company is a one of a kind, and Candy’s mission is to identify the essence of each and reflect it through a tailored combination of ingredients.
She graduated from Meredith college in Raleigh, NC with a bachelor’s of science in Interior Design. She immediately began building a business in residential design. She moved to Chicago, IL a couple of years later and happily immersed herself in the creative opportunities only a big city has to offer.
Through the years she has won multiple awards working with large developer corporate clients outfitting high rise condominium lobbies, clubrooms and model show homes. In addition she continued to work with residential clients and small business owners designing their homes and offices.
In any project, Candy has a particular passion for pairing the past with the present, displaying a wonderful amalgamation of character and style. Her keen eye for identifying ’what feels right’ lends itself to her artful ability.
Her vision is to bring awareness to the importance of design and how environment affects our thinking, feeling and behavior… ultimately our lives. Through design, she coaches and inspires her clients to live from the heart and reflect it out to their material surroundings.
