Ceiling Lights & Chandeliers

The earliest candle ceiling lights & chandeliers were used by the wealthy in medieval times. This type of chandelier could be moved from room to room. Around the 15th century more complex forms of chandeliers became popular decorative features in palaces and homes of the nobility. Neoclassical motifs became an increasingly common element in cast metals and in carved wood. Chandeliers made in this style drew heavily on the aesthetic of ancient Greece and Rome, incorporating clean lines and classical proportions. Progress in glass-making techniques led to the development of lead crystal. Its light scattering properties quickly made it a popular addition to luminaires of the time. That resulted in the birth of the crystal chandelier. The high cost of crystal made the chandelier a symbol of luxury and status, which it still is to this day. We offer ceiling lights & chandeliers inspired by light fixtures from the 17th century to the present day. Custom sizing is available. Ours is an artisanal product made in a traditional and non-mechanized way. There is a wide variety of finishes to choose from. Luminaires trimmed in rock crystal is one of our specialties. This extensive collection of ceiling lights & chandeliers was designed by Shah Gilani, ISFD, who is available to discuss with you your special designs or custom sizes.
