Centerra Master Plan Community

Centerra is a master-planned community located in Loveland, CO in a high plains eco-region similar to a desert environment with low precipitation and high winds. This ALCC award-winning project includes 65 annual beds, 60 flower pots and 30 hanging baskets scattered over several acres of land. We have been the floral and maintenance vendor since 2015.

Our client expects every effort to be taken to help sustain their over 600 species of wild birds, reptiles, plants and mammas, especially bee populations. We are consistently adding perennials, to attract pollinators, as budget allows. Some of our favorites are Salvia, Coneflower and Rudbeckia.

Additionally, this site is full sun and infested with rabbits. We chose plants that are known to survive both challenges. Though rabbits will eat anything some of the plants that we have had good luck with include Sunpatiens, Titan Vinca, Marigolds and Annual Salvia.

The client did not want any tall plants blocking view of the beautiful stone work at monument signs, so the pallet had to be short but impactful.

Due to the high winds and dry conditions hanging baskets can be a challenge in this environment. Proper plant selection, location of the baskets and consistent watering are the key.
