Central Cypress Board and Batten Table
The "Central Cypress Board and Batten" is hand-made from inch-and-a-half thick weather beaten Cypress planks that have served as the siding for a horse barn from Grand Pass, MO, that protected its inhabitants for the past 130 years. Each piece shows the years of paints, stains, storms and sunlight that naturally cured, dried and hardened this one of a kind wood. Because of the natural aging, each table will have unique characteristics that speak to over a century of stories. Each A-Frame Railroad Truss base boasts classic styling with a rugged profile with sturdy, handmade 2-inch steel, square tubing and fully welded seams. This style has withstood the test of time and continues to be a fan favorite for its durability and overall handsomeness. Raw steel, flat black, or a color treatment of your choice.
Interestingly enough, ancient Egyptians found great use in Cypress, and built structures to encase and preserve items of great value; while ancient Greeks etched Plato’s “Code of Laws” into Cypress, as it was thought to outlast Brass. Suffice it to say that this table will only become more beautiful with age and will be the centerpiece of stories told for generations to come.
