Post offices are often implementing a regulation requiring new communities to have cluster mailbox units (CBUs) rather than typical individual curbside units.

This new requirement not only saves time and money for the US Postal Service but also the builder. CBUs require fewer stops for the mail carrier while the builder enjoys a lower “cost per home” price in their mailbox budget.
