Ten Key Home & Kitchen Remodels

Charmingly Checkered

From rustic Tuscan to bright and white, this home had a full kitchen and powder bathroom update. We opened up the previously dark dysfunctional kitchen by changing the placement of the island and adding all new white cabinets complimented by gold fixtures and hardware. The upgraded cabinetry takes this room to a whole new level with built-in dog bowls, a sheet pan organizer, pullout spice racks, and a mixer lift stand. For a pop of color, the island was painted Dark Night by Sherwin Williams.
To create a cohesive design and visually enlarge the space, this color was carried over into the small powder room. Along with a paint refresh and wainscotting, the powder room received new plumbing fixtures which allowed for better utilization of space. A modern take on checkered flooring runs between both the kitchen and the powder bathroom adding character with a nod to the history of the house. This remodel is finished off by the antique hutch which was left as is to add warmth to the kitchen while tying in the wood floors throughout the rest of the home.
