This 3000 sqft loft in the heart of Chelsea was an interesting design challenge from the start. The apartment itself is quite long, with north facing windows so all the light streams in, and tapers out as you move towards the back of the space. The clients love entertaining large crowds a few times a year, so creating a space towards the front that would have lots of seating areas, but also be comfortable for the family of 4 to relax when not entertaining was crucial. Our solution was to have 2 configurations of the On the Rocks sofa by Edra, and have it differentiated by color. The blue zone is smaller for more intimate gatherings, and the green zone provides lots of little nooks for multiple people to have conversations. Each area plays off nicely with art by the owner.
