This client, an executive for a large architectural firm, needed to replace cabinets which were damaged after a flood. And, he wanted to make a statement to show off his wine collection in his renovated living room. Klavohn Studios collaborated with the architect to design these custom cherry cabinets - one a wine cabinet, the other a reading nook. Construction featured solid cherry in a natural finish which coordinates with the dark stained cherry cabinets in the kitchen and with similar trim details.

Now, cherry has a unique property as America's hardwood. That is, it tans with age, getting darker as sun and air bring out the tannins in the wood. As a result this project will evolve over the years and mark the passing of time by revealing nature's beauty.
