I've done many Chinoiserie projects over the years and each one has had it's own distinct character. I love the use of metallic paint in this application. Whether used in the background or for contouring leaves and branches, metallics add a bit of elegance and create an ever-changing perception of details as one moves through the space. Colors can be deep and bold or light and airy. Backgrounds can be clean and flat or richly textured. Foreground details can be chosen to accommodate any textural want or color palette. Organic elements can be composed to suit even the most awkward or unusual spaces. So much versatility makes this one of my favorite types of mural to paint.
