This is the other side of the island. It links the dining area and kitchen to the internal glass wall. This allows the light borrowed from the kitchen diner to reach the central media room, which makes it feel cocooned and private, but light enough for use during the day.

Keeping the existing floor throughout the ground floor we moved the kitchen from the front of the house to the rear so that the french doors to the garden increased the sense of space and light

Twin under mounted ovens give the capacity that this family wanted and allowed us to use the full run for cooking instead of placing the ovens to the side. The pantry space was important so this gave us the room for the full height pantry seen at the end fate previous image.
