This beautiful Claremont midcentury was the home of the late Karl Benjamin, midcentury modern painter. Karl worked closely with architect Fred McDowell to create this custom-designed work of art. In 2014, the family wanted to revitalize the landscape in accordance with Karl's original inspiration and design vision. DP Environments was able to revisit some of the main sections of the landscape and provide all new hardscape, decking, planting, irrigation, and lighting. The general layout stayed generally as planned. The use of some updated materials such as harder woods and modern lighting will allow for longevity and vitality for the Benjamin family and survived wife, Beverly. Many thanks to the Benjamins for allowing DP to recreate the work of such a talented man.
