For this project, I was commissioned to turn a bare-bones studio condo into a livable retreat for a 22-year-old single guy. While the location, on top of Queen Anne Hill in Seattle, couldn’t have been better, the original condo left a bit to be desired. With pasty bland walls, and hardly any functional closet space, a new look that included much more storage was essential. And as far as decorative elements go, I had a blank slate. The client, who was moving directly from his parents house, needed everything -- from furniture, to artwork, all the way down to the towels.

With a very tight project timeline, about 2 months start to finish, I had to make decisions quickly. I kept the palate masculine, using shades of brown and blue, with chrome accents. The style leaned toward the traditional, in keeping with the clients’ tastes and preferences, but all the elements still had strong lines and minimal patterns to keep the place suitable for a bachelor.
