The opening to the hallway and path to the dining room were closed up, and the pantry closet removed to create space for a new 42" refrigerator, enlarged counter space, and two new pantry cabinets--one for food and the other for household needs. The Wolf speed oven takes the place of a microwave.

The client requested at least 5 seats on the island. In order to enlarge the island that much, we cut the wall back and removed the peninsula, moving the main sink from the outer edge of the room to it's central spot on the island, with a better view of the backyard oasis and the family room.

We converted the un-used dining room into an elegant, cozy, quiet sitting room, adding a wet bar and gas fireplace, and stunning cabinetry and tile backsplash.

The old doorway from the old dining room to the hall and kitchen was closed up to enlarge the laundry room, creating shallow depth wine storage. The transom was left to allow more light to enter the laundry, which lacks a window. The recessed light in the laundry is visible through the transom.

Taking space from the storage area in the lower level, the bar was expanded without re-locating the sink plumbing. The secret walk-in pantry provides seasonal storage for summer items for poolside entertaining.
