Coffee Tables

Hope you enjoy these coffee table ideas from my drawing board and workshop. Most of these were commissioned for specific spaces, but I welcome custom requests based on these ideas. Drawings, other views, and more information on any of the designs are available.

While I usually show my work in natural materials, I am happy to execute any of these designs in lighter palettes to suit your requirements - for example burnished aluminum, white enamel, weathered woods, etc.

This table begins as a heavy steel bowl - shallow & perfectly spherical. I cut it up and piece it back together - almost like a broken pot found by an archeologist. I finish this design in many ways - this one copperplated. A round glass top floats a couple of inches above the form.

Einstein's Table #5922 - Products
A steel coffee table with legs and top formed as a continuous, singular element. This version in finished in a mottled gun-metal black. I'd love to see it in a bright, waxed aluminum. Give me your required dimensions and I'll stretch and configure it for your space.

Coffee Table #5906 - Furniture
A Zen inspired table of any wood - this one maple. Optional sculpted cracks introduce other layers of meaning & feeling. The wood grain crosses the table top at a slight angle - a delicate, unnecessary subtlety.

Meteorite Table #5912 - Furniture
This has been one of my classics. The oxidized steel bowl form is about 1/4" thick with sculpted cracks around the edges and into the center. It is streaked with patina and oxidation - looking like something ancient from the future.

Saturn Table #5914 - Coffee Tables
A round table I do in various woods and finishes - this one walnut and curly maple. Simple steel legs set off the warm, fluid wood forms.

An Art Deco inspired table design that can be reconfigured for any space. I like to use natural wood for the vertical "legs" and a metallic finish for the horizontal connecting element - this one gold with a little scratch pattern in it.

An African inspired coffee table of copper-plated steel and a variety of world beads woven randomly into several edges. The top is slightly dished. The openings on the top go all the way down to the floor.

Heavy steel plate and bleached, rustic wood. A unique furniture material, steel plate allows for open forms and a sense of movement. Many finishes available - this one a mottled gun-metal grey.
