Comfy Bungalow

Beautiful Craftsman Bungalow nestled sweetly under the palm trees. This project was a complete home remodel, including the adjoining guest house and swimming pool. I wanted to warm up the interior and brighten up all of the spaces that were under a rather heavy Craftman influence.

The house has only one family/living room, so I wanted to be sure it was a comfortable and welcoming space. Great for lounging, reading and watching a little TV.

The existing kitchen was opened up to the dining room, bridged by the addition of a peninsula cabinet and counter. Custom center island with chopping block top. Custom sofa (not in frame) on the left balances out the room and allows for comfortable seating in the kitchen.

Bathroom was completely remodeled and updated. Glass subway tile wainscot, glass mosaic tile in the tub/shower surround. Cabinetry elements include a freestanding linen cabinet and wall mounted sink cabinet and horizontal side cabinet with towel bar. Vanity sconces with up and down light,...

Master bedroom suite features custom bed, side tables, dressers and wall mounted bookcase. Bedside pendant lights by Allison Berger. Room has a walk-in closet with a Japanese influence.

Entrance to walk-in closet, custom Shoji door. Room seating, Womb chair and ottoman by Eero Saarinen, adds the mid-century touch. Noguchi bamboo floor lamp with silk shade. How nicely it can all come together.

Master steamer shower has beautiful handmade 2" mosaic tiles inlayed with a very small handmade mosaic collage. Teak shower bench and floating stone shelf details.

I also designed the swimming pool, which has a pebble finish in the water and sand stone surround. There is large ledge for sitting in the pool, complete with it's own umbrella stand.
