This project involved the lifting and remodeling of two 100 year old classic Shingle Style beach houses that experienced substantial flooding from Hurricane Sandy. Even though the houses are located about one block in the the ocean, the client had asked us to redesign them incorporating V-Zone compliant structural systems and design criteria. The original houses were also lifted to comply with the current township and FEMA Base Flood Elevation requirements. The client was very specific that the design aesthetic was to look as if the homes were originally built that way.
