This contemporary loft in historic downtown Macon started its life as an empty attic space. Designer Carrie Robinson of Robinson Home was commissioned to turn the empty space into a turn-key loft and the results are stunning. The historic ceiling joists were left exposed to give depth and texture to the ceiling of the main living area. Light and airy walls and flooring take advantage of the wonderful light provided by the four large windows facing a park. The plan created a large open living area with integrated dining room and kitchen. Two bedrooms and bathrooms were also created as well as a wet bar and powder bath.

Creating a space from scratch provided the opportunity to fine-tune the space for efficient living and provided the ability to later easily convert the loft into two separate income producing units. The merging of historic architectural elements and antiques with more contemporary furnishings gives the space a delicate balance of both elegance and comfort.
