The couple wanted a new bath with a soaking tub, a custom shower, a vanity for two, and, of course, a toilet. Fortunately we had room to accommodate all the wishes, but there were some issues with which we had to deal. Since the bath is on the second floor, we did not want to relocate the toilet, and the drain for the old corner tub was in a good place for the new free-standing soaking tub. The shower drain was close enough to reuse as well. The tub sits in front of a large window, and a half wall with glass panel above separates it for the seated shower. We accomplished a contemporary look for the pressure balancing valve, transfer valve, shower head and hand-held shower on a 24" bar. The finish is polished chrome contemporary. The vanity was created with center drawers and full height doors under the lavs, each with a roll-out shelf. The vanity was supported on four tapered legs in a white Shaker style. A full width mirror was atop the vanity with two double lights above. The quartz top with under mounted lavs, was matched to the thresholds and wall caps of the shower. Clear glass was used for the enclosure accenting the openness of the room. A touch-less toilet chosen for it's hygienic appeal. All in all, a very inviting and functional bathroom. What a fun job to work on with great customers!
