Bluestone walkway framed in Belgian blocks leads visitors to a cheerful entry.

Colonial Front Entry

We updated this basic Colonial elevation with new windows, cedar shingles, raised pitch roof line and landscaping. It all comes together to be the prettiest home on the street.

Contemporary Connecticut Colonial

The renovation included adding a terrace with spiral staircase down to a screened porch below. The bluestone lower patio features a gas fireplace with cement mantle. The kitchen wood deck offers another spot to sip a cold drink while grilling dinner.

Outdoor Living

We opened up the view to the forest, which provides a serene backdrop while lounging on the bluestone patio. This is one of four outdoor spaces created to commune with nature.

Forest Back yard

Surprisingly, even a small deck can be a big opportunity to create a vignette of relaxation and beauty. This pub height table clears the height of the railing to maximize views of the stunning forest beyond.

Kitchen Patio

We had a bare wall of the garden shed, under the kitchen deck. Why not elevate it to an enchanted garden with a mirror and dappled sunlight. The antique shutter adds patina and texture. The console serves as a spot to pot plants.

This compact stair landing is an ideal spot for a design vignette of art and collectibles. These colors of blue, orange and white are repeated in the upper hallway and bedrooms.

In the home renovation, we created a new powder room. The emerald green ceiling echoes the blue, green, white color palette in adjacent living room.

We opened up this floorpan to optimize open concept living. From the family room, we can see into kitchen, dining, wet bar and entry.

This home has an open concept floor plan which allowed us to create a dining room/library combination. A low chair tucked near the window offers a cozy spot to read a good book.

We took out an office in opening up the floor plan of this renovation. We designed this home bar complete with sink and beverage fridge which serves guests in the family room and living room. The mother of pearl penny round backsplash catches the light and echoes the coastal theme.

At the kitchen entry, these double doors open to pull out shelves for pantry items. Take a seat as you put your shoes on.

We designed the new dining room as a combined library. The books tell a story about the homeowners and multi-function spaces are smart!

The living room is well appointed for comfort and conversation. The Chinese wedding cabinet is home to a Ginger collection. Furnish a large room with zones and it will get used regularly.

We eliminated the red brick fireplace surround and opted for a a marble sheet mosaic. The custom designed mantle is large scale to stand up to the size of the room. It is a great way to change out art and collectibles.

The living room is well appointed for comfort and conversation. This room design radiated out from the emerald green sofa - a must have! The artwork represents the owners, different places they lived, it tells a story.

Green and Pink Living room

If a room is furnished well, it will get used all year long, not just for holidays. We don't want a fussy, fancy space just for company, do we? There are several spaces to sit and read or relax in this space. The front Saarinen style table serves as overflow for dinner parties.

Consider taking an otherwise unremarkable space and decorating it to make it a special space. We gave this hallway a rug runner, framed art, antique bench and decor - voila... we pause and take in the beauty!

Coastal Hallway

This nautical theme guest bedroom continues the coastal theme of our project. It is well appointed, functional and calming.

We designed a playful, Bohemian style for this guest bedroom. The ivory linen Roman Shades don't compete with the focal point wall. The mustard chair is a great spot to read before bed or lay out clothes for the day.

Timeless materials give this guest bathroom a calm permanent feel. The sea coral art mimics the coastal theme. The remaining items were quite affordable and simply designed.

The Master bedroom siting area is adjacent to the bed with a cozy side table and lamp. The simply designed window treatments are only required for light control.

We designed this space to provide serenity and calm. This bedroom was an addition. so it is quiet and sheltered from ANY breakthrough noise.

We kept the palette calm and timeless for this upstairs master bathroom. The double sink vanity mirrors reflect the forest view opposite. Nice way to start the day!

We kept the palette calm and timeless for this upstairs master bathroom. The free standing tub looks over the forest. The teak bench in the shower is repeated in the dip dyed stools at the bathtub, creating a repeat in material, leading the eye around the room.
