This contemporary remodel is set within the context of a 1930’s Tudor Revival style home. However, the client’s tastes favor a more modern look. To resolve this, the project incorporates warm wood cabinets, natural stone and an earth tone palette - all elements fitting to the traditional style. However, they are applied with clean lines and contemporary forms. And by removing an unused elevator between the dining and family rooms, the floor plan is more spacious and open. These techniques give the project a decidedly modern vibe while respecting the home’s vernacular.
