This darling cottage home was due for a refresher after the owner's son left for college. The BEFORE and AFTER photos show the significant changes in the dining room, living room, bath and bedroom. The dining room took on a warm, dramatic feel as we selected a beautiful rich red paint for the walls and added soft green curtain panels. We utilized bookcases that were in a different location to flank the stunning oriental prints and to display a variety of pieces that are special to the owner. We found the antique table tucked in a corner, so we opened it, added mismatched chairs with new fabric on the cushions, and added a lovely rug beneath the table to yield a more formal look for the space. In the adjoining living room, we used a fun yellow paint color on the walls and tied the rooms together with print draperies of red, yellow and green. We rearranged pieces the owner had and added some accessories to give the room a comfortable expanded feel and to add seating to the room. The son's bath received a complete facelift, with a new vanity, countertop, tub, shower surround, faucets and paint. The bedroom now warmly welcomes visitors with its taupe walls, new floor length draperies, new bedding and stunning black and white photos taken by the owner and framed in black.
