Gautama Buddha was an Indian philosopher and the founder of Buddhism. He was born in Kapilavastu, India, just inside present-day Nepal. The appellation Buddha means the "Enlightened One" when Buddha came to the realization that suffering is the common lot of man kind and decided to forsake family, wealth & power and lead a serene simple life in the quest for truth. These Zen sculptures evoke a meditative and retrospective ambience.
