Custom Cabinet Refacing

The original kitchen in this project did not fit the style of this 100 year old Maplewood, NJ home. Instead of tearing out the entire kitchen, the homeowner's decided to go down the path of cabinet refacing. Cabinet refacing is a process that involves using the existing cabinetry, selecting a new door style and finish (there are a large variety to choose from), and facing the frame and sides of the cabinet in a wood veneer.

In cabinet refacing, new cabinetry can be added and modifications can be made as well. In this project, a beautiful high end range and custom wood hood took the place of a cooktop and over the range microwave. The original cabinet that the double ovens were located in was converted to a pantry and wine rack cabinet.

By using their existing cabinetry, the homeowner's saved on demolition, construction, and cabinet costs. This allowed them to focus their budget on the items that were most important to them.
