custom mailbox
I recently made a copper and stainless steel mailbox to fit into an opening in a stone post. There was a basic design. I was asked to add some spice to the door, and a hammered "rocky" texture was approved. Finding a suitable latch for the door was difficult. It had to be compatible with the copper, no galvanic corrosion please; appropriate and secure. The stainless latches I saw were too large or just the wrong style. I suggested a handmade latch with a local touch, the chinook salmon.
