Moodscapes transformed a neglected, overgrown backyard into a multi-functional backyard including both a contemplative and entertainment area. The bottom level includes a bluestone patio and fieldstone wall with bluestone and fieldstone steps that lead up to the entertainment area.
The bottom bluestone patio contains a distinct rectangular area specifically designed for a yoga mat. The client has a personal art studio overlooking the back yard with large windows that allow her to view the lovely plantings and area throughout the year, which is especially helpful during the long New England winter months.
The bottom stairs lead to an entertainment area with a shade garden closer to the house for ease of entertainment. In total the backyard is terraced with 3 sections of hardscape, planted with shade gardens, and lie within a canopy of tall trees which aid in both creating privacy and allowing natural light to encourage peacefulness.
