Design: Lakehouse Full Renovation

We were honoured to provide a complete transformation to this treasured lakehouse. It had been in the family for over 40years, and was all original, with lots and lots of yellow pine walls and ceilings. They will now be able to enjoy a refreshed, light and bright space for many years to come.

This dining area was also dark with yellow pine walls and ceiling. The oversized barn door steals the show, while the custom light fixture holds its own. Custom chairs in sunbrella fabric will stand up to wet bathing suits and bright sunshine.

We reserved this prime spot by the window, so the homeowner could enjoy the sunrise over the lake while working from home. The barn door adds gorgeous colour also echoed in the Candice Olsen custom drapery.

This kitchen used to just have a small opening from the island through to the dining area. We opened it up to get full lake views from the whole kitchen, as well as vaulting the ceiling for a more open and airy feeling.

To give the kitchen a more airy feeling, we opened the ceiling and used the empty attic space to create a custom vaulted ceiling. We added pot lights both up and down to maximize both task and ambient lighting. We have done this in a few kitchens now, and it is a HIT with clients!

Yes - its OK to paint wood!! This room used to be completely yellow pine, and quite dark. We wanted to keep the texture of the wood, but whitewashed it for a warm effect. Mirror image sectionals face each other for maximum seating, and two swivel chairs can spin to face the dining area and kitchen.

We created a wall in this spacious bedroom to bring forward the bed to best enjoy the lake view, and to enable a pass through dressing room in behind.

This ensuite was created where a closet used to be. We provided his and hers vanities, a double shower, and a rain glass pocket door to maximize natural light.

This ensuite was super tiny and had an awkward layout. We adjusted the layout and used a pocket door to gain more space. Features a gorgeous laser cut glass tile as backsplash and shower feature.

This ensuite used to be a small enclosed tile shower, and dark old cabinetry. We used easy to care for mosaic in the shower, and clean black framed shower glass.

This main bath features a patterned tile for visual interest, and is also quite forgiving when the lakehouse is busy with guests.
