This textured ceramic outlet cover began as a clay slab pigmented by hand to achieve a dark walnut base color. Then it was stamped to achieve this lovely filigree design. The next step was gilding over the surface with copper and and bronze oxides before firing. Notice the inked screw, so it blends in (instead of a white screw). This is also an oversize outlet cover to hide drywall boo boos. These outlet covers are sprinkled in various places throughout the house.
