Project Details: This home, built in the 1930s is in the Eastover neighborhood of Charlotte. The kitchen had been remodeled about 25 years ago but the layout was choppy and a wall separated a key work zone from the rest of the kitchen. The homeowner wanted to maintain the integrity of the house so the kitchen remained in the original location but we removed the load-bearing wall, rearranged the appliances to improve the work flow, and installed traditional style cabinetry with inset doors and a white painted finish. The homeowner was also considering remodeling a bathroom directly above the kitchen and we explained that it made more sense to tackle both projects at the same time while all the walls and ceilings were opened up. The kitchen and bath remodel came on the heels of an exterior remodeling project we completed for the homeowner. They first called us to build a new portico on the front of the house.
