This Modern project is located in the Dover Shores community of Newport Beach, California. The project features a long linear pool with raised ipe wood decks which act as a frame. Built-in cantilevered bright blue umbrellas on each end of the pool give the space a sleek resort feel while providing shade for the deck spaces. Cantilevered 6” above the wood decks, 12” above the pool, is a colored concrete patio area with linear in-ground gas fire pits centered on each of the deck entertaining spaces. The spa features a stainless steel water feature which flows into the pool below.

A barbecue with ipe wood siding and polished concrete countertops is featured off the kitchen area. The side yard of the residence has been converted into a dining and entertaining space with a decomposed granite paving area to create a more natural soft environment while saving money. The large existing olive is used for shade for both the side yard entertaining space and the raised wood deck. Tall, modern, redwood fences run parallel to the property line and provide privacy for the clients while offer a soft, natural and modern element to the project.
