Downtown Kitchen Renovation for a Chef who Rocks

You never know what will be the inspiration for a project - I was tasked with assisting clients in finding a location for their new home in a downtown spot that checked all the boxes. We came across a property that had a nice addition previously done but the kitchen and living space was very odd - consider this: in order to get to the above loft you must climb through a doorway on fabricated metal up and on to your counter top, over the microwave and then continue up metal stairs to a cat-walk (see the before photos). This client happens to be very knowledgeable and active in the geological realm of the world - and our finish selections became based off the counter-top material. Titanium was the selection and it has interesting purple, gold, and black iron patterns, specks and streaks. From the slab my clients pulled colors and we pieced together parts of the kitchen for cabinets, lighting, appliances, paint and tile. I wasn't always convinced the colors would work but in the end I think it turned out great. We took a very odd space and made the most of it - using old doorways to fit in a bar area, a hidden pantry, and a place to house the oddly shaped Sub-Zero fridge.
