Draper High-Performance Historic

The owners of this 1894 Queen Anne-style home wanted to preserve its historic character while updating it for modern life and energy efficiency. We meticulously restored hundreds of architectural features and recreated others using computer technology. A small addition enabled a spacious kitchen that evokes the Queen Anne style with bath, mudroom and laundry behind. We fully sealed and insulated while adding only 1 inch to the wall thickness. A geothermal heat pump and solar array complete the energy program.

The compact bathroom has all the modern amenities. The black and white patterned tile floor, curvaceous freestanding soaker tub, and oak vanity and mirror with Carara marble top all hark back to the Victorian era when the home was originally built.
