My clients didn't have enough storage space in their kitchen. Without room to add an island, I opted to give them a peninsula. A pull-out trash can on the end of the peninsula is easily accessible. I added an entire wall of cabinets around their refrigerator, giving them so much extra storage. The existing appliances were in great condition, so they decided to keep them. Light-colored solid surface countertops are easy to maintain and show less wear. The additional lighting in the room makes it easy to work in, and light finishes make the room feel spacious and bright.
