We took an enclosed, dark 70s kitchen and transformed it into a dreamy, open, gorgeous kitchen for this Belgian family. Drawing inspiration from true Scandinavian countryside luxury homes, we carefully incorporated timeless details like light natural wood floors and vent hood apron, spacious dish and food pantries, frosted glass cabinet doors, gorgeous quartzite counters, a working island and a storage island, and an updated version of the classic subway tile backsplash. Our backsplash is handcrafted with undulations and a pearl sheen, staying interesting but letting the quartzite be the star! We stripped the space to the studs and removed three walls to create the open kitchen of the homeowners’ dreams.
