My client asked me to reproduce this beautiful turn of the century Otto Wagner bench. I carved the bench seat to recreate the softness of natural wear over time. The cherry wood's color was enhanced then treated with a metal acid dye. The deep cherry color peaks through the black ebonized wood. The grain stays well in focus.
