Luxury Snug and Home Library Interior Design Project | Buckinghamshire & Northamptonshire

This bespoke snug interior design project was created to transform an underutilised room into a cosy and sophisticated retreat, designed for relaxation, reading and quiet moments away from the busy pace of everyday life. Located in Buckinghamshire and Northamptonshire, the brief centred around creating an inviting space filled with character, featuring rich jewel tones, elegant brass accents and extensive book storage to accommodate a growing collection of books.

The design process began with the development of bespoke moodboards, carefully curated to establish a luxurious and layered aesthetic. Inspired by classic library interiors and contemporary residential design, the scheme combined deep jewel-toned colours with warm metallic finishes, tactile fabrics and natural textures to create a space that feels both opulent and welcoming.

Through detailed spatial planning, the room was designed to maximise comfort, functionality and visual balance. Every element was carefully considered to ensure the snug could serve as a multifunctional retreat, providing comfortable seating for reading, conversation and relaxation, while incorporating practical storage solutions for books and decorative accessories.

Realistic 3D renders were produced to help visualise the design before implementation, allowing the client to confidently explore layouts, colour palettes and furniture selections. Material and finish sampling played a key role in refining the scheme, ensuring the rich colours, luxurious fabrics and brass detailing worked harmoniously together.

A defining feature of the project was the incorporation of bespoke book storage and display shelving, designed to showcase the client's extensive collection while contributing to the room's overall character. Carefully styled shelving created visual interest and personality, transforming the space into a refined home library as well as a comfortable snug.

As part of the project, comprehensive FF&E selection and procurement services were provided, sourcing furniture, lighting, accessories, artwork and decorative elements that complemented the overall design concept. Brass accents were introduced throughout the scheme to add warmth and elegance, while layered lighting created a cosy atmosphere suitable for both daytime reading and evening relaxation.

The final styling and installation brought together rich jewel tones, luxurious textures and carefully curated furnishings to create a truly inviting retreat. The completed snug offers a perfect balance of comfort and sophistication, providing a dedicated space for reading, unwinding and enjoying quiet time at home.
