The homeowners of an early 1970s home on a wooded lot wanted to transform their original, dated combined bath and closet into a master suite with a separate bathroom and walk-in closet. The dark space included shag carpeting, dropped ceiling, single vanity and little storage. The couple had separate requirements, but together desired a tranquil, yet sophisticated retreat inspired by nature, with modern amenities and design that would also allow them to age in place.
