A nice, updated twist to yesterday's traditional is to make an island two-toned to contrast with the flooring and perimeter cabinetry. Still keeping with the warm and earthy browns keeps it cozy.

Quartz countertops offer a more durable and stain free way of living. Quartz is not porous, therefore it will not stain but it isn't heat resistant. Just make sure to use a hot pad underneath pans taken directly out of the oven!

Coordinate the tile with the deco and countertops, the consistency helps maintain a traditional feel. Also notice the painted cabinets with a glaze.
