Faux Marble Finishes

Some of the terms and products used to describe hand painted finishes might be confusing to you. Faux Finishing or Faux Painting is a common term you will often hear which comes from the French word "faux" meaning "false". The term is used to describe painting a surface to look like something it isn't. This job is a good example of a faux marble finish in which wood paneling is painted to look like marble. The two columns were also painted to look like stone, the dark marble and the lighter photo to match tumbled marble. Other examples are found in the Furniture section of the Project Gallery.
