A client with a mid-century modern home asked if I would design a screen for his unusual fireplace opening and in discussions the client mentioned shards of glass. This was the inspiration for the piece. The door is operational making it easy to tend to the fire and the combination of materials creates a striking contrast and lovely reflections. The piece was made by Kramer Design Studio, Chicago.
