As a live/work space, the addition sits above an existing structure in which the client uses to house their sheet music business and retail flute sales. The Flute House approaches the expansion of pre-fabricated construction techniques as they relate to the growing digital platform in a design process setting. Stucturally insulated panel systems, pre-cast concrete planking and steel utilizing moment connections are intended to provide a more efficient method of construction. Ultimately the entire confab is covered in a monolithic skin of Polyurea.
