French Chateau Project

Just completed: French Country home in Santa Rosa Valley, California. This is a true French Chateau home and in the design I used lots of color, fabrics, and textures. We had the toile fabric copied onto the mural of the new range hood in the kitchen. The old fireplace was updated with metallic antique bronze paint and we added broken French china, tile, and glass to the fireplace surround.

A view of the updated fireplace in the family room. Here you can see the existing columns were painted in the same metallic antique bronze color as the fireplace to bring that color to other parts of the room. The fireplace makes the perfect focal point for the family room.

In the master bedroom we used Bombay chests as nightstands with custom bedding. The drapes on rings, using two different color fabrics, is a beautiful look when the drapes are pulled closed or pushed back on the finial. Soft, delicious colors everywhere.

Metallic vessel sink on granite with mosaic stone backsplash. The walls are a venitian plaster in paprika and salmon blend. Limestone floors and espresso cabinets make this a dramatic powder room.
