The client wanted the kitchen to perform like a professional chef’s kitchen but with appliances that were less conspicuous than is sometimes seen in such an environment. Instead she preferred to create a warm and uniquely special atmosphere where she and her large Italian family would cook, create, laugh and work.

In addition to serving the client’s functional requirements well, it has its own personality, not one borrowed or inspired by another kitchen. And, it accomplished the goal of "hiding" a large number of appliances, while being efficiently placed. The client can bake her cake and eat it too.
