From Coffee Table To Bench for $40

We had a large space with nothing in it. Just a bed and two dressers. A place to sit to put our shoes on or fold laundry sounded like a cozy way to fill up the space.
So I set out to my favorite local treasure hunting place, The Guardian Angel Thrift Store. I was hunting for a very cheap coffee table that I could reinforce (so we could actually sit on it) and found this little beauty

Shelf went on next. We gave it a good sanding! MDF does not look like wood, so we used a brush to apply the paint so you could see the brush strokes too

Time to paint! We used a semi-gloss enamel latex paint in Olympic’s “Fired Earth” Gray. I got super lucky on this one. It was almost exactly the same color as the swatch I had picked in all the right paint for $15 in the pre-mixed discount paint section at Lowes. (Sorry for the blurry shot!)

We used 2″ foam for the cushion (they sell this by the yard at the local fabric store)

Got my fabric cut and ready to attach. using a stable gun, just flip and pull tight, then staple directly to the MDF board.
