From laundry closet to laundry room....

The space you will see here was transformed from a musty and unsightly laundry closet in the homes basement, to a laundry room. Additional space found behind a useless framed wall gave way to making this a actual room feel, rather than a "closet finish". This project was done in accordance with another at the same location which is shown in the "revamped sun room" job. Both projects were done in middle winter months, with exterior temps dipping below zero on many days.
An interesting note. Over the couple weeks of the laundry project, the washer and dryer would have to be moved back into place and hooked up for use, then removed again, the next day, in order to complete the work.
We soldered some hundred copper connections prior to pressure testing and in all, we had on fitting with a small leak. It didn't show up until the next day when an upper level bath was used, since we finished our pressure test at near 1:00am and didn't want to awake the homeowners at that time.
Home owner calls on a Sunday, noticed drip and walla, quick trip to the home, and 15 minutes later, system drained, leak fixed and re-pressurized.....
The outcome was nice, and the owner was not just pleased, but amazed at the newly created and finished space. As well, we were able to swap washer and dryer locations to meet her request. The idea here not only to meet her request, but the dryer vented almost directly outside, making the ventilation extremely efficient. The vent went from several feet long, to approximately 16 inches to the outer wall.
As well, the plumbing fixtures all now have proper drain ventilation through the roof.
